Terms of Service
Last updated: for stakeholder preview review
The service
Deafopia provides an event companion app and website for Deafopia community events: browsing events, free attendee registration, event passes, vendor applications, and community photo albums. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.
Accounts
- Give accurate information and keep your password private; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Verification and recovery links are single-use and expire. Treat them like passwords.
- One account per person. Contact us if you lose access to your email.
Registrations and passes
- Registration is free but a registered pass belongs to one person and is not for resale or transfer.
- A pass gets you in subject to venue capacity and event rules; organizers may refuse entry for safety reasons.
- Organizers may scan and validate passes at the door, and scans are recorded to prevent pass reuse.
Vendors and payments
- A vendor application is a request, not a reservation — a booth is yours only once Deafopia confirms it.
- Booth payments are processed by Stripe. Their terms apply to the payment itself; refunds are handled per Deafopia's published policy for each event.
- Provide accurate booth details; material misrepresentation can lead to cancellation.
Community content
Photos and other content you upload are governed by our Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms. You keep ownership of what you upload; you give Deafopia permission to store it, review it, and — only after approval — show it in the event’s community album.
Acceptable use
- Don't use the app unlawfully or to harass, harm, or mislead attendees, vendors, or organizers.
- Don't attempt to bypass pass validation, rate limits, or account security.
- Don't upload content that violates the Community Guidelines.
Availability and changes
We aim for the app to work on event day, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties. We may update these terms; material changes are surfaced in the app before taking effect. If you keep using the service after that, the updated terms apply.
